Kreuzstein - A socially critical thriller
Kreuzstein - Paperback and Kindle available from Amazon
It's shocking how prescient a novel written in 2009 and published in hardcover by Dumont in 2010 can be. It wasn't just the many little things that happened after the release.
An ICE that had to stop in the story in the Eichheide tunnel on the Frankfurt/Cologne route due to a technical defect, it happened a little later. In my wildest fantasies, I would not have dared to use the real reason as the cause. One of the train doors was torn out by the pressure differences in the tunnel...
And then there's the climax of the coincidences: It concerns the part that brings about a crucial twist at the end of the event. The novel was only a few months old when something strange happened on January 6, 2011 at 9:35 a.m. before high mass in Cologne Cathedral. Cardinal Josef Meisner waited in his car in front of the cathedral to wait for the largest bell to ring before entering. That's when it happened. The 800 kg clapper tore off when the St. Peter's bell rang and crashed into the depths.
But all this is insignificant compared to what was uncovered in the following years.....
